SHERWOOD PINES FESTIVE DUATHLONS 2026

Dive into the heart of Nottinghamshire’s legendary Sherwood Pines for an unforgettable festive duathlon experience. Nestled just 20 minutes from both the A1 and M1, this majestic woodland offers a perfect blend of history and adventure.
Sherwood Pines spans over 3,300 acres of lush greenery, dotted with towering pine trees and steeped in tales of Robin Hood. The park is renowned for its diverse range of activities, including biking trails, play areas, and wild running routes that cater to all ages and fitness levels. This makes it an ideal setting for the upcoming duathlon event on a chilly December day.
The festival atmosphere at Sherwood Pines will be complemented by two exciting race options:
- Festive Sprint Duathlon: A shorter yet invigorating challenge with a 5km run, followed by a scenic 15km cycle through the woodland trails. The journey concludes with another exhilarating 2.5km run to cross the finish line.
- Festive Standard Duathlon: For those seeking a more extensive adventure, this option includes a 10km run, a challenging 30km bike ride, and finally, a concluding 5km run through the picturesque trails of Sherwood Pines.
Both courses are designed to be accessible for any off-road bicycle, ensuring that participants can enjoy the natural beauty while pushing their limits. The event also features additional activities such as trail runs and a festive family fun run, providing options for all members of the community to join in the celebration.
The transition area at Sherwood Pines is secure and well-organized, with clear markings indicating each participant’s racking spot based on race numbers. Participants can bring small bags or boxes for their belongings during transitions, ensuring ease and convenience throughout the event.
Start times are scheduled around 10:10am, though exact timings will be confirmed in advance via email to ensure smooth organization. Live chip timing by Timing Up North guarantees accurate results for all competitors.
Upon crossing the finish line, participants can look forward to receiving a commemorative medal, exclusive WILD DEER merchandise, and festive treats like mince pies and chocolates. The event also offers an optional T-shirt purchase at £14, adding another layer of memorabilia from this special day in Sherwood Pines.
Parking is available on-site with a subsidized charge payable through Forestry England’s pay machines after the race concludes.
