Bum Run Calgary 2027

Join the Calgary Bum Run, an annual 5K walk/run and charity event dedicated to raising awareness about colon cancer screening and prevention. For over 16 years, this unique fundraiser has drawn participants from across Canada, amassing more than $2.2 million in support of various cancer research initiatives and patient care programs.
Scheduled for May 8th, 2027, the race starts at Foothills Hospital's Cal Wenzel Precision Health Building on Hospital Drive NW. The scenic route winds through the Children’s Hospital grounds and into Calgary’s vibrant University District, offering runners a mix of pathways and sidewalk running along lush greenery.
The event features both an adult 5K run/walk starting at 9:00 AM and a special Little Bums race for children under 12, kicking off at 8:40 AM. Participants in the main event will enjoy clear course markings with arrows and cones guiding them along each turn. Marshals are stationed throughout to assist runners as needed.
Registration includes swag, a finisher's medal (for live participants), personalized fundraising pages, and post-race snacks for both adult and Little Bums racers. Virtual participation is also an option, providing digital recognition but without the race kit or physical medals.
Teams can be formed during registration to enhance group fundraising efforts. On-site baggage check allows runners to leave their belongings safely while they focus on the run.
Parking is available free of charge in Lot 6 from 8:00 AM until 11:00 AM, with clear signage guiding drivers directly to the designated area. Prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers by local sponsors.
After crossing the finish line, participants can enjoy refreshments while taking a moment to reflect on their achievement in support of this important cause.
