About the Event

Circuit Running invites you to join the Boxing Day Challenge, an exhilarating 6-hour running event along the picturesque River Thames. The race starts at 7:00 AM with registration beginning at 6:30 AM for those who wish to run in the early morning darkness and need a head torch.
The course features an out-and-back route of 3.28 miles, allowing participants to complete multiple laps as part of their chosen distance. Whether you aim for a traditional 5k or push yourself towards longer distances like a 10k by running two loops, the event accommodates runners with varying goals and paces.
The Boxing Day Challenge offers an open-ended challenge where competitors can run from a minimum of 5 kilometers up to ultra-marathon lengths within the time frame. Participants have until 5:59 PM to start their final lap before closing time.
Upon crossing the finish line, every runner will receive a custom-designed medal and a goody bag filled with post-race essentials. The event is licensed by the TRA and conducted under UK Athletics rules, ensuring fair play and safety for all participants.
Toilets and changing facilities are available at Runnymede Rowing Club, providing convenience during rest stops. For baggage storage, runners can leave their belongings near the start/finish line but should note that this area is unmanned and items left there do so at your own risk.
Parking is plentiful on-site at Runnymede Pleasure Grounds; however, a fee will be required to secure a spot for the day.
Aid stations are strategically placed along each lap's endpoint, offering water, squash, fizzy drinks, and snacks to keep you fueled throughout the event. Participants are reminded to respect other path users as the race takes place on public footpaths.

Age group limits apply based on UKA guidelines: 5000m for ages 12-13, 6000m for ages 14-15, 10000m for age 16 and above, up to unlimited distance from the age of 20.
