Nestled along the picturesque Llyn Peninsula in North Wales, the Dioni ABERSOCH 20K and 10K COAST TRAIL races offer runners an unforgettable blend of stunning scenery and challenging terrain. The race starts on Abersoch Beach, a golden stretch of sand that hugs Cardigan Bay.
For those tackling the longer distance, the route winds along the coastal path past Tudwal’s Islands and Porth Ceiriad before reaching its furthest point at Porth Neigwl (Hell's Mouth). This loop back to the finish line provides runners with breathtaking views and a variety of surfaces, including trails through lush greenery and stretches along sandy beaches.
Both distances feature exciting terrain changes, from winding coastal paths to brief road sections. The event’s unique blend of track and trail ensures that participants experience both rugged natural beauty and well-maintained pathways.
Upon crossing the finish line back on Abersoch Beach, runners are greeted by a festive atmosphere complete with live music, a race announcer, massage stations, a beach bar serving cold drinks, and a barbecue. Many participants take advantage of the cool waters to refresh themselves before settling in for post-race celebrations that include sharing stories over a cold beer.
