CBTE Winter Wirral Ultra

The Winter Wirral Ultra invites road and trail runners, as well as walkers, to explore the scenic beauty of the Wirral Peninsula. With its 12-hour cutoff time, this ultra offers flexibility for all levels of endurance athletes.
Set against a backdrop of coastal views and rolling landscapes, the race covers a flat yet challenging 36-mile route with just 812 feet in elevation gain—making it one of the flattest ultras on offer. The course loops around an anticlockwise path along the Wirral Circular Trail before finishing at Hooton Memorial Hall.
Participants will find well-marked trails supplemented by additional signs provided for this event, creating a partially self-navigational experience that tests route-finding skills alongside physical endurance. Five strategically placed checkpoints supply water and snacks to keep runners fueled throughout their journey.
Upon crossing the finish line, all participants receive a commemorative medal along with drinks and snacks at the hall. A GPS tracker is included in your entry fee for friends and family to track progress via Open Tracking. An optional £10 finisher’s t-shirt can also be purchased alongside race registration.
With limited spots available—only 430 runners will take part—the Winter Wirral Ultra ensures a personalized experience for each participant. Trophies are awarded to the top male, female, and non-binary finishers as well as first-place winners in age categories starting at 50 years old.
