About the Event

The Engadin Skimarathon, held annually on the second Sunday of March since 1969, stands as one of Switzerland's premier mass participation sporting events and ranks among the world’s top cross-country skiing competitions. Spanning a challenging yet breathtaking 42 kilometers from Maloja to S-chanf in the heart of the Engadin Valley, this race offers skiers an unforgettable journey through pristine winter landscapes.
As participants glide over frozen lakes and meander past quaint alpine villages, they are immersed in the tranquil beauty of the Swiss Alps. The course winds its way through a unique blend of natural scenery, offering glimpses into traditional rural life while showcasing stunning vistas that change with every turn. Skiers experience firsthand the serene atmosphere and crisp air characteristic of this high-altitude setting.
The Engadin Skimarathon not only tests endurance but also celebrates the rich cultural heritage of the region. With thousands of competitors from around the globe, it embodies a spirit of camaraderie and shared passion for winter sports that draws participants back year after year.
This event is more than just a race; it’s an immersive experience in one of Europe's most picturesque settings, where athletes can revel in both physical challenge and natural beauty.
