The 2026 edition of the "Mountain and Sea Path" Cangnan Coastal Trail Challenge is set to take place on December 5-6, 2026, at the scenic Yuliao Tourism Area in Wenling County, Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province. The event offers three distinct race categories: the Seaside Soul 40K, Mountain Path 20K, and Green Energy 8K. Each category is designed to cater to different levels of endurance and adventure seekers.
The Seaside Soul 40K course features a total elevation gain of 1895 meters with a peak altitude reaching up to 406 meters over an actual distance of 39.4 kilometers. Participants will embark on this challenging journey at 7:30 AM on December 6, with a cutoff time of nine and a half hours.
The Mountain Path 20K offers runners the opportunity to conquer 831 meters of elevation gain while reaching a maximum altitude of 422 meters over an actual distance of nearly 20 kilometers. This race starts at 8:00 AM on December 6, with participants given five hours to complete it.
For those looking for a shorter yet still scenic experience, the Green Energy 8K is scheduled for 3:00 PM on December 6 and spans an actual distance of 7.32 kilometers, featuring an elevation gain of 211 meters up to a peak altitude of 203 meters.
This event leverages Cangnan's renowned 168-kilometer coastal trail, which is celebrated for its unique blend of sea, beach, harbor, village, and island landscapes. The race aims to promote sustainable development by fostering an integration between sports activities and cultural tourism.
