Nestled deep within the mountains of Zhejiang's southern region, the 2026 Mami Gaoja Super Mountain Trail Race invites runners to explore the ancient and enchanting landscapes of Taishun County. Scheduled for November 29 in Wenzhou City’s LuoYang Town, this race offers four distinct courses: Stepping Stones Picking Light (13.14K), Ancient Path Cloud Traversing (21K), Covered Bridge Chasing Wind (30K), and Heavenly Pass Aspiring Summit (42K). Each route is meticulously designed to showcase the rich history and natural beauty of Taishun, a county renowned for its ancient covered bridges.
Taishun, with over a thousand years of heritage, boasts 32 ancient covered bridges within its borders—15 of which are national protected structures. These architectural marvels, featuring intricate mortise-and-tenon joints, stand as enduring symbols of the region’s historical and cultural significance. The Stepping Stones Picking Light course (13.14K) begins at 6:30 AM with a closing time of 11:30 AM, allowing participants five hours to complete the approximately 13-kilometer route that includes a total elevation gain of around 600 meters.
The Ancient Path Cloud Traversing (21K), starting simultaneously at 6:30 AM and concluding by 4:30 PM, provides runners with ten hours to navigate its challenging terrain. Spanning approximately 21 kilometers, this route features an impressive elevation gain of over 1,450 meters.
The Covered Bridge Chasing Wind (30K) offers a longer journey beginning at dawn (6:00 AM), giving participants until 5:30 PM to cover its approximate 29-kilometer distance with nearly 2,330 meters in elevation gain.
For those seeking an ultimate challenge, the Heavenly Pass Aspiring Summit course (42K) kicks off early at dawn and concludes by sunset (6:00 AM start time until 6:00 PM), allowing runners up to twelve hours to complete its arduous yet rewarding path of about 39 kilometers with over 2,960 meters in elevation gain.
Each race route is carefully crafted around the historic Tianguan Mountain Trail and other significant paths within Taishun County.
