Sorrento Bay Swim

The 21st edition of the Sorrento Bay Swim promises an exhilarating day on January 17, 2027. Open water enthusiasts from all walks of life can choose among three distinct courses tailored to their skill level: a 600m swim for junior and novice participants along the picturesque route from Sorrento Beach to Sorrento Foreshore; an intermediate 2,000m course that stretches from Sullivan Bay to Sorrento Foreshore designed for experienced swimmers; and the challenging elite category of 4,000 meters from Camerons Bight to Sorrento Foreshore.
Organized by the dedicated members of the Sorrento Surf Life Saving Club, this event is more than just a competition. It's an essential fundraising activity that supports critical community programs such as volunteer patrols on Sorrento Back Beach and educational initiatives for young residents learning vital water safety skills through the club’s nipper program.
With anticipated participation ranging from 400 to 600 swimmers, this year promises to be one of the most vibrant editions yet. All participants will receive a commemorative t-shirt and swim cap as well as timing devices that must be returned at the finish line; non-returned items incur a $115.50 fee.
