This unique and exhilarating event offers several options to cater to all preferences: a solo fat bike adventure, a thrilling snowshoe trek, or even team up for an exciting duathlon.
For the adventurous cyclist looking to conquer snowy terrain, the Solo Fat Bike portion features a challenging yet rewarding 11km loop through Silver Star’s BX Creek and Knoll trail system. Carve your way through fresh powder with big tires that keep you rolling smoothly over deep snow. This event is perfect for both seasoned riders and those new to fat biking who want to experience winter riding in style.
If snowshoeing strikes a chord, the 5.5km solo snowshoe race offers an equally captivating adventure on Silver Star’s scenic trails. Navigate through pristine landscapes while enjoying a mix of terrain that challenges your endurance but rewards you with breathtaking views and serene beauty. This event is designed to push limits in a fun and supportive environment.
For those who prefer the camaraderie of teamwork, FatShoe also hosts a team duathlon where participants can alternate between fat biking and snowshoeing over two legs. Register as part of your crew early on November 1st, 2026, to secure spots for all members before January 5th when registration closes.
In addition to the main events, young athletes aged 8-14 have a special opportunity with our Kids Snowshoe Race. This non-competitive 2.5km loop is designed to introduce children to snowshoeing in an encouraging and joyful atmosphere. Parents are welcome to join their little ones free of charge for this heartwarming event.
Post-race, gather around the fire pits at Silver Star Mountain Resort where hot dogs, coffee, hot chocolate, s'mores, and warm camaraderie await all participants. Enjoy a well-deserved break amidst friends and fellow winter enthusiasts as you relive your snowy adventure.
