Yamen Xianggui Race 2026 (2026野门象归局)

About the event

Set against the rugged beauty of Nanjing's Laoshan Xiangshan Lake Park, the Wild Gate to Home Run 2026 offers runners an unforgettable journey through scenic trails and challenging terrain on November 29th. The race features three distinct categories: the demanding Town Elephant (23K), the moderate Following Elephant (15K), and a more accessible Seeking Elephant (10K) for younger participants, each with its unique elevation gain.
The Town Elephant course ascends over 1,300 meters in total climb, pushing runners to their limits as they navigate steep climbs and descents through lush forests. The race starts at 7:30 AM sharp, providing a window of six hours for completion amidst the crisp autumn air. Participants will be treated to sweeping views of Nanjing's natural landscapes while tackling technical trails that test both endurance and agility.
For those looking for a slightly less intense challenge, the Following Elephant offers an equally scenic route with 700 meters of elevation gain over its 15K distance. Runners can enjoy the camaraderie as they follow their fellow competitors through varied terrain before reaching the finish line in just four hours.
The Seeking Elephant (10K) caters to younger runners and includes a special family-friendly option for parents running with children, both covering an elevation of around 300 meters. This course provides a more manageable challenge while still offering stunning views and an exhilarating experience suitable for the whole family in just under four hours.
While no finisher medals or race shirts are provided this year, all participants will receive memorable keepsakes to commemorate their achievement. The Town Elephant category also offers ITRA points upon successful application after completing the event, rewarding runners with additional recognition for their efforts.

Scenic view of

Nanjing is the capital of Jiangsu province in China. The city, which is located in the southwestern corner of the province, has 11 districts, an administrative area of 6,600 square kilometres (2,500 sq mi), and as of 2021 a population of 9,423,400. Situated in the Yangtze River Delta, Nanjing has a prominent place in Chinese history and culture, having served as the capital of various Chinese dynasties, kingdoms and republican governments dating from the 3rd century to 1949, and has thus long been a major center of culture, education, research, politics, economy, transport networks and tourism, being home to one of the world's largest inland ports. The city is also one of the fifteen sub-provincial cities in the People's Republic of China's administrative structure, enjoying jurisdictional and economic autonomy only slightly less than that of a province. It has also been awarded the title of 2008 Habitat Scroll of Honor of China, Special UN Habitat Scroll of Honor Award and National Civilized City. Nanjing is also considered a Beta city classification, together with Chongqing, Hangzhou and Tianjin by the Globalization and World Cities Research Network, and ranked as one of the world's top 100 cities in the Global Financial Centres Index.
