White Pine 50 Backcountry Run

The White Pine 50 Backcountry Run invites trail runners to explore the stunning Upper Logan Canyon in Northern Utah on August 14, 2027. Starting and finishing at Beaver Mountain Ski Area, this challenging loop course offers a taste of the legendary Bear 100 route as well. Early starts are available for those who need extra time to meet cutoffs.
The rugged terrain features dramatic elevation changes that test runners’ endurance through dense forest trails and scenic vistas. Participants can look forward to special prizes for fish slapping during their run, adding a unique twist to the event’s quirky traditions. For ultra trail enthusiasts, this race is part of the Cache Slam series, offering an opportunity to compete for top honors across three major races in the area.
Runners will navigate challenging sections marked with clear course markings and hydration stations strategically placed along the route. The White Pine 50 also offers a chance at automatic entry into the Bear 100 by securing first place finishes from last year’s event.
For accommodations, campers can enjoy scenic tent sites or car/van/RV camping near Beaver Mountain Ski Area for $25 per night. Free dispersed camping is available along nearby roads and USFS-managed area campgrounds provide additional options. The race also supports local businesses like the nearby Beaver Creek Lodge.
With its picturesque setting and adventurous spirit, the White Pine 50 Backcountry Run promises an unforgettable experience in one of Utah’s most beautiful backcountry regions.
