About the Event

Ultra X Wales is an exhilarating adventure that ventures into the rugged terrain of the Black Mountains, located east of the Brecon Beacons National Park. This challenging race begins just north of Abergavenny and unfolds over several kilometers through some of Wales' most stunning landscapes.
Participants will navigate a course marked with checkpoints spaced roughly 10km apart. These strategically placed stations offer essential amenities such as water, snacks, shelter, and medical support to ensure runners are well-equipped for the journey ahead. The race takes place in July each year, providing ideal conditions to explore the natural beauty of the region.
With its mix of rolling hills, steep ascents, and scenic vistas, Ultra X Wales offers a unique blend of challenge and reward for trail runners seeking an unforgettable experience in one of Britain's most picturesque settings.
The event not only tests endurance but also immerses participants in the rich natural environment of the Brecon Beacons. As competitors push their limits across diverse terrain, they will encounter breathtaking views at every turn, making Ultra X Wales a race that combines physical exertion with profound appreciation for nature's splendor.
