Ultra Malta Trail

Ultra Malta Trail (UMT) invites runners to explore the dramatic northern coastline of Malta on April 3, 2027. The race, now entering its next edition, features four challenging distances: 6km, 21km, 54km, and a new flagship ultra at 85km. Starting in Majjistral National Park, runners will traverse rugged sea cliffs, historic coastal paths, and lush Mediterranean landscapes, with the deep blue of the Mediterranean Sea as their constant companion.
The race has gained popularity among trail running enthusiasts from across Europe; over one-quarter of participants in 2026 hailed from abroad. UMT is known for its warm community atmosphere, well-stocked aid stations, and a lively finish-line expo that celebrates runners' achievements. The event's organizers are dedicated to creating an experience tailored by and for the runner community.
Malta’s mild April climate makes it ideal for trail running, with comfortable temperatures and clear skies enhancing the scenic beauty of the island. Its compact size allows visitors ample time to explore other attractions such as Valletta, Gozo, or further stretches of coastline before or after the race.
Ultra Malta Trail welcomes runners seeking a new ultra distance challenge or those looking for an accessible trail race with breathtaking views and a strong sense of community.
