This five-day journey through South Africa’s breathtaking mountains and forests offers a unique blend of comfort and exploration. Each day, you'll hike with only essential gear while your luggage is transported ahead to your next overnight hut. Marvel at pristine coastal thicket, fynbos, ancient afro-montane forest, and pine plantations as you traverse spectacular mountain passes, hidden valleys, and dramatic coastlines.
The trail begins in Nature's Valley and concludes at the iconic Paul Sauer Bridge over Storms River, taking hikers through the heart of Tsitsikamma. With daily distances ranging from 10 to 15 kilometers, this moderate challenge requires a good base level of fitness but avoids scrambling terrain. Each overnight hut is strategically positioned for maximum enjoyment of its surroundings and features communal hot showers powered by an old-fashioned donkey boiler system.
