Trigger Fell Race 2027

On January 10, 2027, runners gather at Marsden Cricket Club for an exhilarating and challenging race through the rugged terrain of the Dark Peak. The course winds its way along Snake Pass to Edale village, a route that requires self-sufficiency and careful planning as participants must navigate their own transport arrangements both to the start line and back home after crossing the finish.
The 250 spots for this event fill quickly when registration opens on October 20, 2026. Each runner is expected to carry full Fell Running Association (FRA) standard kit including a waterproof jacket with taped seams, waterproof trousers, hat, gloves, map and compass, whistle, emergency food, head torch, survival bag, and suitable footwear for fell running conditions.
Checkpoints are strategically placed along the route, ensuring that all runners adhere to safety standards. A thorough kit check takes place at registration to confirm each participant's preparedness before they set off at 08:30 AM after a prompt start time of 07:00 AM.
The race supports Woodhead Mountain Rescue Team by donating profits from the event, making it more than just a run—it’s an opportunity for runners to give back while enjoying stunning views and testing their endurance against challenging terrain. The Snake Pass must be open on race day, adding another layer of uncertainty that keeps participants on edge as they prepare.
Experience the thrill of this unique challenge in one of Britain's most captivating landscapes.
