Trail Nocturne de Noel is an enchanting winter race series held on December 12, 2026, at Bonningues-Lès-Calais. The event offers runners and walkers a magical evening experience through the scenic trails of this charming French town.
The festivities kick off with two shorter races for younger participants: the Course des Lutins (Course of Elves) covering 1.5km and the Course des Elfes (Course of Fairies) spanning 2.6km, both starting at 5:15 PM. Both courses are designed to be fun and engaging, allowing children to enjoy a festive run under the stars.
For those seeking more distance or adventure, two longer races await. The Marche Nordique (Nordic Walk), an 8-kilometer trek for Nordic walkers, starts at 6:00 PM. This event offers participants the opportunity to explore the trails while engaging in cross-country walking techniques that combine elements of skiing and hiking.
The main attraction is undoubtedly the Course des Rennes (Course of Reindeer) which covers a challenging 16 kilometers starting just after the Nordic Walk begins at 6:00 PM. This race takes runners through varied terrain, offering stunning views of Bonningues-Lès-Calais under moonlight and stars.
Another highlight for participants is the Course des Caribous (Course of Caribou), an 8-kilometer run that starts promptly at 6:15 PM. It provides a less strenuous yet equally scenic experience through some of the area's most picturesque trails.
All runners are required to wear headlamps and festive Santa hats, adding to the whimsical atmosphere of the event. Participants can collect their race numbers from Espace Futurum in Bonningues-Lès-Calais between 4:00 PM and 5:45 PM on December 12th.
Trail Nocturne de Noel promises an unforgettable evening filled with holiday cheer, challenging courses, and a sense of community among runners of all ages.
