The Original Swanage Triathlon Festival

The Original Swanage Triathlon Festival invites triathletes from around the globe to experience an unforgettable weekend on Dorset's scenic Isle of Purbeck. On June 27, 2027, participants will begin their journey with a refreshing open water swim in picturesque Swanage Bay. If conditions are favorable, swimmers may catch glimpses of marine life as they navigate the clear waters. The bike leg follows with several hill climbs that test endurance and strength, but also offers exhilarating descents like Kingston Hill's thrilling downhill stretches.
The run course takes athletes north out of Swanage Town to Ballard Down Ridge, a chalk downland area within the Purbeck Hills. This section rewards runners with panoramic views over the surrounding countryside as they traverse undulating terrain that challenges both body and spirit.

Registration opens at 06:30 on race day, with mass starts scheduled as follows:
- Standard & Aquabike (1500m swim, 38km bike, 10km run) at 07:30
- Sprint (750m swim, 23km bike, 6.5km run) at 08:00
- Aquathlon (750m swim, 6.5km run) at 08:30
The event's success is due in part to the dedicated marshals who contribute their time and energy to ensure a smooth experience for all participants. Volunteers are encouraged to sign up through the provided form, offering various roles such as car parking, registration assistance, finish line support, route management, and drink station duties.
