The Lucky Horseshoe

The Lucky Horseshoe offers runners of all distances an inviting challenge at Suffolk Running Centre, located on Church Road in Bury St Edmunds. On September 11, 2027, participants can choose from five exciting options: the 5k, 10k, half marathon, full marathon, or ultra distance.
The race route is a scenic out-and-back course that blends both road and trail sections, with stunning views of the Suffolk countryside. Runners will encounter gentle climbs totaling around 126 meters throughout their journey. A high point of 108 meters marks the highest elevation on this varied terrain.
Aid stations are strategically placed every 10 kilometers along the route, providing runners with essential hydration and snacks to fuel them through each lap. The social nature of the course allows for friendly encounters as participants pass by one another multiple times during their run.
Parking is included in your entry fee, making it easy for you to focus on the race without worrying about transportation logistics. Race HQ serves not only as a starting point but also houses water and aid stations throughout the event.
All finishers will receive a bespoke medal commemorating this unique experience or have the option of choosing from previous editions' medals through the lucky dip selection if available. Virtual runners can participate via Zig Zag Running's website for those who cannot attend in person.
Please note that no dogs, buggies, or headphones are allowed on the course to ensure safety and compliance with local traffic regulations. Bring your own reusable bottles or cups as part of the event’s efforts towards sustainability by going cupless this year.
The Lucky Horseshoe promises an engaging day out for runners seeking a mix of scenic beauty and camaraderie in Suffolk's charming setting.
