THE EQUIPE 2026

The Munga Equipe invites teams of three to five cyclists and their dedicated manager on an epic journey through the heart of South Africa’s Karoo region. Spanning over six days from November 25th to November 30th, 2026, this relay-style event covers a grueling distance of 1,130 kilometers from Bloemfontein to Doolhof Wine Estate in Wellington.
Each team member takes on one section of the Munga route between race villages, racing their leg as hard and fast as possible before handing off to the next rider. The course is renowned for its challenging terrain, scorching heat, and winding dirt roads. Along the way, teams will encounter legendary farmers at waterpoints who provide crucial support.
Race villages offer hot meals and comfortable beds, allowing cyclists to rest and refuel between legs. But it’s not just about individual performance; the final leg sees all team members riding together from RV5 to Doolhof Wine Estate in a united effort that cements their bond as they cross the finish line as one.
Registration is mandatory on November 24th at The Windmill Casino, Bloemfontein, where medical forms must be submitted. Early bird entry costs R60,000 for a team of five riders (R12,000 per rider), while normal price registration stands at R70,000.
The Munga Equipe is an unparalleled experience that tests endurance and teamwork against the backdrop of South Africa’s stunning Karoo landscape.
