Participants can choose between two challenging distances: 15 miles or 10 miles, solo or as part of a team. Once you register and hand over all electronic devices to receive your race number and emergency bag, prepare for an unforgettable journey.
The event begins when you board the bus wearing a blackout blindfold (or an alternative if needed) and are driven to a secret drop-off point. From there, it's up to you to find your way back to the event center using only your wits and sense of direction.
No maps, GPS devices, or any form of assistance is allowed—just your own resourcefulness and perseverance as you navigate through unknown terrain. The distance between start and finish points is measured in a straight line (as the crow flies), but the actual route can be longer due to natural obstacles and challenging landscapes.
Upon stepping off the bus, participants are fully on their own. Whether running, walking, or crawling, your goal is to make it back using nothing more than your instincts and determination. Break any rules—such as attempting to use GPS—and you’ll face immediate disqualification.
For those who opt-in for an additional fee, live GPS tracking offers a unique way to share the excitement with friends and family. This optional feature provides real-time updates on participants' progress through the event's website, allowing supporters to follow along from afar or even compete in virtual races by comparing times and routes.
Key rules include maintaining the integrity of your emergency bag (breaking its seal leads to disqualification) and ensuring GPS trackers are returned at the end of the race. Failure to do so incurs a £175 replacement fee.
