The 3rd Yeonggwang Gwangpung Marathon

On March 28, 2027, runners will gather at Yeonggwang Sportium for the annual Yeonggwang Gwangpung Marathon. The race offers three distances: 5K, 10K, and half marathon, with a total field limit of 7,000 participants. For residents of Yeonggwang County, the entry fee for the 5K is KRW 20,000; non-residents pay KRW 35,000. The 10K and half-marathon distances cost KRW 50,000 each. All runners will receive a timing chip and are guaranteed both a T-shirt and a KRW 5,000 local gift certificate for the longer races. A special category has been announced for a buddy-run event in the 10K race, though details remain to be confirmed.
The course winds through scenic areas of Yeonggwang County, offering runners picturesque views of natural landscapes as they compete against the clock. With cut-off times set at one hour for the 5K and two hours for the 10K, participants are encouraged to maintain a steady pace throughout their chosen distance. The half marathon has a three-hour time limit.
