The 50-mile course begins early with car park access from 6:30 AM and a race briefing at 7:45 AM before the start time of 8:00 AM. For those choosing the shorter route, the day starts similarly but shifts to an earlier morning setup for the 8:15 AM briefing followed by the 8:30 AM departure.
Aimed at experienced runners and ultra-marathon enthusiasts alike, this event is meticulously organized with safety in mind. A dedicated team ensures full course marking and high-visibility signage on the final stretch as daylight fades. Friendly marshals are stationed at major road crossings to assist runners throughout their journey.
Fueling stations every 10 miles provide essential supplies for refueling, including a mix of sweet and savory snacks, water, juice, and coke to keep energy levels up during this endurance challenge. Medical support is readily available along the route should any assistance be needed.
Upon crossing the finish line in Totton, runners are greeted with commemorative medals celebrating their achievement. Top male and female competitors also receive special prizes for first, second, and third places. This event marks its 10th year of growing popularity among long-distance running enthusiasts.
