The event takes place over 7 hours, allowing participants to choose their distance based on how they feel throughout the day. The Itchen Way route stretches along a scenic path, crossing the historic Hockley Viaduct and returning back to the start point. With options ranging from five laps for a half marathon to ten laps for a full marathon, or even eleven laps and beyond for an ultra-distance run, runners have flexibility in their goals.
Aid stations are strategically placed along the route with plenty of sweet and savory treats, including the event's signature potatoes, ensuring that participants remain fueled throughout. Vegan options are also available at every station to cater to all dietary preferences.
