Experience Wellington’s premier Splash & Dash series, where swimmers of all levels gather on Freyberg Beach for an evening of fun and competition. Each round takes place every second Wednesday from November to March, offering both swimming races and swim-run events that cater to beginners and pros alike. The beach setting provides a scenic backdrop with crisp ocean breezes and stunning views as you race or leisurely paddle your way through the course. The series kicks off on November 25, 2026, continuing through January and February before wrapping up in early March. Participants can enjoy quality racing conditions while ensuring their safety is top priority. Whether it’s a spirited competition among friends or simply enjoying the camaraderie of fellow swimmers, each event promises to leave you with a smile. Series points are awarded based on your best seven swims across different age categories (under 20, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and over 60), determined by the age you will be in December 2027. Points are given for either open water swims or swim-run events but not both within a single event. Series entries are limited to just 100 participants across all categories, ensuring an exclusive experience that fosters community spirit and friendly competition. With non-refundable passes available only for personal use, this is your chance to dive into the heart of Wellington’s aquatic scene at Freyberg Beach. Join us on November 25, 2026, for a night under the stars and feel the thrill of the splash as you race alongside some of New Zealand's finest swimmers.
