Immerse yourself in the beauty and challenge of the Santa Cruz Mountains at the Skyline Ridge Trail Run & Hike. This scenic adventure offers three distinct courses: 10K, Half Marathon, and an exhilarating 50K run-only route. The event takes place on March 6, 2027, inviting runners to explore the rugged terrain of Skyline Open Space Preserve and Russian Ridge.
The 10K course starts at Skyline OSP and winds through open vistas before returning via Horseshoe Lake. For a longer journey, the Half Marathon extends into both preserves, featuring narrow hiking trails and wide ranch roads with stunning ridge-top views that can be foggy or windy depending on weather conditions. Aid stations are strategically placed to keep you fueled throughout your run.
For those seeking an ultimate challenge, the 50K course offers breathtaking panoramas of the Santa Cruz Mountains, including a climb up Black Mountain for spectacular coastal vistas and glimpses of the Pacific Ocean. The route traverses diverse landscapes—from moist evergreen forests to high grasslands—before concluding back at Skyline OSP.
Aid stations are well-stocked with water, Tailwind, fresh fruits, PB&J sandwiches, soda, and gels to keep you hydrated and energized throughout your journey. Finishers will receive a Bay Area Ridge Trail logo duffel bag as a memento of their achievement.
