Scafell Pike Trail Marathon

Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Borrowdale, one of England's most stunning valleys, and featuring an ascent over Scafell Pike—the highest peak in England—this trail run promises an unforgettable adventure. The race begins at 8am from Lingholm and concludes back in Crow Park on Lake Road, Keswick.
While not reserved for elite athletes alone, this challenging course is best suited for experienced trail runners due to its rugged terrain that includes steep ascents and descents over mountain trails. Participants must be prepared with the right gear and navigation skills as much of the route between Seathwaite and Scafell Pike will remain unmarked. The ability to navigate through these sections accurately, using a GPX file or other navigational aids, is crucial for success.
The day begins at Lingholm before making its way towards Seathwaite, where runners must then tackle the demanding mountain trails leading up to Scafell Pike and back down again via Esk Hause. After navigating this challenging section, participants will retrace their steps through marked terrain until they reach Crow Park once more for a well-deserved finish.
Participants are advised to dress appropriately for all weather conditions and carry enough food and hydration throughout the race. Upon completion, every runner receives a bespoke medal commemorating their achievement, while top three male and female finishers along with first-place winners in each age category will be awarded prizes.
