Rutherglen Women's & Kids Triathlon

The Rutherglen Women's & Kids Triathlon returns on November 28, 2026, offering an exciting and improved course for participants. This annual event features two categories: one for girls and boys aged 6 to 12 years old, and another exclusively for women over the age of 12.
For younger racers in the 6-to-9-year-old group, the challenge includes a swim leg of 66 meters followed by a bike ride of 1 kilometer and concludes with a run of 500 meters. Those aged 10 to 12 years old will tackle an extended course featuring a 66-meter swim, a 3-kilometer cycle, and finish with a 1-kilometer run.
Women have the option to choose between two courses: the short distance involves a 3-kilometer run, followed by a 10-kilometer bike ride, concluding with a refreshing 200-meter pool swim. The long course is designed for seasoned athletes and includes a more demanding 6-kilometer run, a challenging 20-kilometer cycle, and ends with an invigorating 400-meter swim.
The racecourse features smooth country bitumen roads, virtually free from traffic, making it ideal terrain suitable for any type of bicycle. One unique feature is the reverse order in which participants complete their disciplines – starting with a run, followed by cycling, and concluding with swimming. This innovative format sets Rutherglen apart as one of Australia's rare reverse triathlons.
This event promises an unforgettable experience for both young competitors and women alike, combining scenic countryside views with a unique race structure that keeps the adrenaline pumping from start to finish.
