On October 3, 2027, Canatara Park plays host to the annual tribute run honoring first responders and frontline workers. This scenic race offers both 5KM and 10KM distances through Tarzanland and along Sarnia's beautiful waterfront. The Terry Fox loop serves as the starting point for a course that winds around Canatara Park, offering runners picturesque views of natural landscapes and bustling cityscapes alike.
For those looking to challenge themselves further, the 10KM route extends beyond the park borders, taking participants past the casino before looping back into Tarzanland. The event also features a timed 1KM option for younger runners eager to track their progress over time.
A highlight of this year's race is the return of the Guardian Cup team challenge, open exclusively to 5KM competitors. Teams of four can vie for bragging rights and a place on the trophy by calculating the average time of all members who cross the finish line.
Service animals are welcome participants in the event, along with strollers and wagons, making it accessible for families and friends alike. While registration after September 1st excludes shirt distribution, this run remains an opportunity to connect with those dedicated to community service year-round.
