The Royan Beach Trail, set for November 21, 2026, promises an unforgettable coastal adventure in the picturesque French town of Royan. The race features diverse courses that take runners through urban streets, scenic trails, and sandy beaches. Starting at 5:45 PM, participants can choose between a 10km walk or one of two children's races for kids aged 7 to 9 years (700m) and those aged 10 to 12 years (1.4 km). These shorter courses offer young athletes the chance to experience trail running in a safe, fun environment. For more experienced runners, there are two main events: "L'Intégrale Côte de Beauté," a 20km urban trail race starting at 6:30 PM with 400 participants, and "Le Tour des Plages," a 9km urban trail event kicking off at 6:45 PM for 300 runners. Both courses will weave through the charming streets of Royan, offering a mix of paved paths, natural trails, and sandy stretches. The race routes are designed to challenge both beginners and seasoned athletes with technical sections featuring tight turns, steep inclines and declines, stairs, and sand, culminating in a total elevation gain up to 150 meters. All events begin and end at the front-of-the-beach auditorium, providing runners with stunning views of the coastline. A mid-race refreshment station will be available between loops for those seeking sustenance. Upon finishing, participants can enjoy post-race festivities and recovery options in the vibrant atmosphere surrounding Royan's beachfront. Follow all race updates on the organizing committee’s Facebook page to stay informed about any last-minute changes or additional details.
