Rhino Run - Runnymede

Join us for the Rhino Run, an inspiring race that celebrates awareness of rhino conservation and honors Chris Green AKA Rhino Boy Chris's dedication to raising funds and support. Set against the picturesque backdrop of the River Thames at Runnymede Pleasure Grounds on January 3rd, 2027, this event offers runners a unique opportunity to contribute to an important cause while enjoying scenic views along the river.
Registration begins promptly at 7:00 AM, with the race starting at 7:30 AM. For early starts before dawn, participants are encouraged to bring head torches for visibility and safety. The course features an out-and-back route of approximately 3.28 miles (5 km), allowing runners to choose between a single loop or multiple laps based on their endurance goals. A turn point is provided for those aiming at the traditional 5k distance, while ambitious participants can tackle longer distances by completing additional loops up to ultra-marathon levels within the event's six-hour window.
Upon crossing the finish line, all participants will be awarded a bespoke medal and one of our generous goody bags filled with treats. The race venue includes toilet facilities and changing rooms at Runnymede Rowing Club for your convenience during the day. Although there is no official baggage storage provided on site, runners are welcome to leave personal items near the start/finish area; however, this space remains unmanned, so belongings should be left at participants' own risk.
Parking is available within the grounds of Runnymede Pleasure Grounds but requires a fee for entry. Throughout the event, aid tables will be stationed along the route with refreshments including water, squash, fizzy drinks, and various snacks to help runners fuel up between laps. As this race takes place on public footpaths, we kindly ask all participants to be considerate of other trail users.
