Step into the whimsical world of Saturn Running for an enchanting journey along the picturesque River Thames at the Smurf Run. This delightful event welcomes participants from all walks of life, whether you're bounding alongside friends or enjoying a leisurely stroll through scenic landscapes. Membership offers exclusive perks such as discounted entry fees and access to a mini-me medal pin at every race attended. For UK Athletics club members, an additional £2 discount is available, making the run even more affordable for avid trail runners and casual joggers alike. The Smurf Run presents a flexible 7-hour time challenge where you can set your own pace and distance. The minimum requirement to be considered an official finisher is just 3 kilometers, but ambitious runners have the option of completing multiple laps up to a full marathon or beyond. Each lap measures approximately 4.37 miles (or may adjust slightly based on course conditions), offering participants the freedom to tailor their experience. The route winds through lush greenery and alongside tranquil waters, with well-marked signs guiding you every step of the way. About sixty percent of the trail is paved for ease of navigation, while the remainder consists of grassy paths that can become muddy in certain seasons. Participants are advised to choose footwear based on their comfort level. Upon crossing the finish line after completing a minimum distance of 3 kilometers, runners will receive an adorable themed medal celebrating your accomplishment. For those who push further and complete half marathon or longer distances, unique pins reflecting these achievements await as part of your reward collection. In addition to the medals and pins, all participants are treated with a goody bag filled with various treats, including options for vegan runners. The aid station at both start and finish ensures that you stay fueled throughout your run, offering an array of snacks from sweet to savory items. For those marking significant milestones such as reaching their 50th or 100th race milestone, a personalized running number bearing your name will be provided upon request. It’s also possible to leave personal belongings in the secure area designated at the start/finish line during the event. The Last Hop provides restroom facilities but does not offer changing rooms or showers; however, ample space is available within the restrooms for quick changes if needed. Parking can be found nearby in Bridge Street Car Park (TW18 4TP). Race day instructions will be sent via email a week before the event date with all necessary details including number pick-up procedures at registration on race morning. Join us this year and immerse yourself in an unforgettable running experience that combines fitness, fun, and fantastic views of nature.
