Embark on an exhilarating trail adventure through Glenariff Forest with the ROTG Route 2027, a challenging yet rewarding 10-kilometer race designed for experienced runners. The course winds through rugged terrain and technical trails that demand both physical prowess and mental fortitude. Registration is available at The Thatch in Broughshane on December 27th from noon to two o'clock or directly at the Visitors Centre Glenariff between nine thirty and eleven a.m. Race day begins promptly at twelve noon, promising an afternoon filled with scenic beauty and athletic challenges. Participants should be prepared for non-stop running over varied terrain, including steep inclines and rocky paths that test both endurance and agility. Safety is paramount; runners must follow the guidance of tail runners who may direct you to exit certain sections if necessary. If this occurs, speak to a race official at the finish line area to receive your medal. Post-race festivities include a prize ceremony with over £1,000 in awards, weather permitting under a marquee tent that also offers light refreshments for all attendees—runners and spectators alike. To help minimize environmental impact, organizers encourage carpooling among participants and their supporters. Parking options are plentiful at Ballee Park and Ride near Ballymena, ECOS Park, and the Ballymena Leisure Centre. Additional spots are available in 'Parkmore Forest – Touring in Trees,' located opposite Glenariff Forest's main entrance. Runners traveling alone should arrive early to secure parking as priority is given to those car sharing. Car park marshals will direct vehicles accordingly; cooperation with these instructions ensures a smooth and organized race day experience. In the event of adverse weather or other unforeseen circumstances necessitating cancellation, alternative dates are set for January 24th and February 7th, ensuring that everyone has an opportunity to participate in this thrilling trail run.

About Ballymena
Learn more about the host city, Ballymena.
Ballymena is a town in County Antrim in Northern Ireland. It was badly scarred by The Troubles, by economic decline and associated social problems, but it's nowadays a commuter town for Belfast and in 2021 had a population of 31,300. The historic counties are no longer units of government and Ballymena is now part of the Borough of Mid and East Antrim.
