PHOENIX - Manchester - The Cosmic Challenge - Taurus

Set against the backdrop of Manchester's picturesque Alexandra Park, the Cosmic Challenge - Taurus Phoenix offers runners an unforgettable experience on May 15, 2027. This inaugural edition features a flat and fast course that winds through one of the city’s most charming green spaces. Whether you're taking on the ultra distance or starting with a shorter 10K, the event promises to be both scenic and welcoming.
Registration begins at 7:30 AM for those tackling longer distances like the marathon and ultra-marathon, while participants in anything under the half marathon start between 9:15 AM and 10:30 AM. All runners must complete their race by 3 PM, adhering to strict cut-off times.
The course itself is a loop that mirrors parkrun’s route, offering flat terrain and beautiful scenery throughout each lap. With an aid station stocked with refreshments like bananas, biscuits, crisps, full-fat cola, and Irn-Bru available all day, runners can refuel easily as they navigate the lush greenery of Alexandra Park.
For those looking to combine parkrun and Cosmic Challenge events, it’s important to note that 8 AM starters cannot participate in parkrun without invalidating their results. However, shorter distance participants are welcome to run parkrun first before registering with us for a later start time.
Getting there is straightforward; public transport is highly recommended, but limited parking is available on Claremont Road if you prefer to drive. The registration area near Demesne Road ensures that the main event and parkrun activities remain separate yet complementary.
Don't miss out on the chance to explore Manchester’s green oasis while challenging yourself in this unique running experience.
