Polar (Winter) Swim: D9, Quays (21/11)

Experience the thrill of cold water swimming at Uswim’s POLAR (WINTER) SWIMS held annually at Dock 9 in Salford Quays. For over ten years, this unique event has drawn enthusiasts to its chilly waters, promising an invigorating plunge that boosts both mental and physical well-being.
Participants are required to use a towfloat for safety reasons and should don swim caps—either one or two—to stay warm while swimming. Competence in the water is essential as swimmers must be able to navigate effectively under winter conditions. While wetsuits can be hired on-site, they are not mandatory; participants who prefer skin diving will also find their place here.
The event offers a supportive atmosphere with dedicated safety measures and hot drinks along with tasty treats provided at no extra cost. Swimmers have the flexibility of entering between 11:00 AM and noon, but it’s recommended to arrive earlier than 15 minutes before the swim ends for registration purposes.
