About the Event

Step into Manchester’s vibrant Rochdale Canal for Friday Fizz!, a brand-new running experience that promises fun and camaraderie. Set against the backdrop of this historic waterway, runners can enjoy a 3.28-mile loop along flat terrain perfect for both social jogs and personal best attempts.
The event offers an engaging Lucky Draw Vintage Medals feature where participants pick a lucky number before starting their run to receive one of the remaining Phoenix medals upon finishing. The course is chip-timed with lap splits, allowing runners to track their progress accurately throughout the 7-hour window from 8:30am to 3:30pm.
Registration begins at Morrisons car park on Tweedale Way in Chadderton starting at 7:45 am, where a fully stocked aid station will be available all day. The event encourages runners to start their journey between 8:30 and 10:30 am for the best experience. Free parking is conveniently located within walking distance on Northfield Road.
Participants can look forward to an array of refreshments at the aid station, including bananas, biscuits, vegan jelly sweets, salted pretzels, Coca-Cola, Irn-Bru, squash, crisps, and brownies. The nearby Morrisons cafe also serves coffee and hot food for those looking for a quick bite.
A mandatory race briefing will be sent out six days before the event to ensure all participants are well-prepared with up-to-date information. Join us on February 26, 2027, for an unforgettable run along Manchester’s Rochdale Canal!
