Pacifica Foothills Trail Run

Nestled within the serene Santa Cruz Mountain range, San Pedro Valley Park offers runners an idyllic setting for their next adventure on January 24, 2026. Spanning over 1,150 acres of coastal mountain terrain, this park is a part of the rich history that includes Native American culture and the urban development of nearby San Francisco.
The event features distances ranging from an invigorating 10K to a challenging 30K route through Montara Mountain North Peak. The longer distance courses offer runners a steep ascent of up to 1,900 feet, rewarding them with breathtaking views of the Farallon Islands and Pacifica’s coastline once they reach the summit.
Runners can expect lush eucalyptus forests teeming with wildlife such as Red Tail Hawks, which provide an awe-inspiring backdrop for this scenic trail run. During winter and spring months, Brooks Falls adds a dramatic element to the course, cascading 175 feet in three tiers.
The race day will kick off at South Walnut Grove Picnic Area where check-in begins from 7:30 AM to 9:00 AM with start times scheduled as follows:
- 8:30 AM for the 30K
- 8:45 AM for the Half Marathon
- 9:00 AM for the 10K
Aid stations along the route are well-stocked, providing a variety of energy gels, chews, trail mix, sandwiches, and other essentials to keep runners fueled. Skratch Labs’ sports hydration mix is available at each station, offering an optimal blend of electrolytes and minimal sugar for rapid absorption.
Participants will also find picnic areas within the park ideal for spectators who can enjoy a day out with family or friends while awaiting their loved ones' finish times. The event encourages carpooling to minimize environmental impact and maximize community spirit among runners and volunteers alike.
Post-race festivities include free T-shirts, food, and opportunities to earn credits toward future Inside Trail Racing events by volunteering. Runners are guaranteed a race shirt if they register before January 10th.
Awards will be given to the top three overall finishers in each gender category for all distances along with special prizes from sponsors for the first male and female in every division.
