About the event

Immerse yourself in the unique blend of land and sea at the 2027 Mudskipper Fresh and Salty Swimrun Championships. This prestigious event takes place on September 12, 2027, along the stunning shores of Sasamat Lake and Belcarra Regional Park in Port Moody, British Columbia.
Competitors will embark on a challenging yet rewarding course that spans 20 kilometers, combining freshwater swimming in serene Sasamat Lake with exhilarating runs through lush forests. The event culminates with a saltwater swim near White Pine Beach before returning to the lake for the finish line. This year’s race is sanctioned by Triathlon B.C., adding an extra layer of prestige and excitement.
In addition to the main Swimrun Championship, participants can enjoy the Sasamat Open Water Swim II, featuring distances of 1.0K, 3.0K, and 5.0K across the tranquil waters of Sasamat Lake. The event also includes a new Aquathlon option for those looking to mix running with swimming in one continuous loop around the lake.
The atmosphere is electric as athletes from all over British Columbia come together to celebrate this uniquely Canadian endurance challenge. With breathtaking scenery, varied terrain, and an enthusiastic crowd cheering on every competitor, the Mudskipper Fresh and Salty Swimrun Championships offers a truly unforgettable experience for both participants and spectators alike.
