Maxicross de Bouffemont

Immerse yourself in the rugged beauty and rich history of Montmorency Forest at the MaxiCross race, an early-season trail running challenge that attracts top Francilian athletes. This unique course takes you through a forest with significant prehistoric roots, offering runners not only stunning natural scenery but also fascinating insights into its underground world.
The event is set against the backdrop of Europe's largest gypsum quarry, featuring over 250 kilometers of galleries beneath the trees. As if that wasn't enough, the area houses the strategic headquarters for France’s Air Force Strategic Forces responsible for nuclear deterrence from the air—adding a layer of intrigue to your run.
Participants can choose between two challenging routes: a full marathon distance covering 42 kilometers with an impressive climb of 1420 meters, or a half-marathon option at 25 kilometers and 760 meters of elevation gain. Both courses are designed to test endurance while showcasing the dramatic terrain changes that characterize this historic forest.
With its proximity to Paris—just under 20 kilometers away—the MaxiCross offers a perfect blend of urban convenience and rural adventure, making it an ideal destination for trail runners looking to kick off their season in style.
