The Trail de Haute Provence offers an immersive journey through the heart of southern France’s Forcalquier-Montagne de Lure region. Situated between the majestic Alps and the Mediterranean Sea, this race weaves its way through a tapestry of diverse landscapes that range from rugged mountain peaks to serene plateaus dotted with historic villages. Runners will encounter challenging terrains as they ascend into lunar-like vistas on panoramic ridgelines of Montagne de Lure before descending through enchanting undergrowth and passing by landmarks such as the Abbey of Notre-Dame de Lure.
The route also takes participants past ancient rock formations known as Les Mourres, highlighting the geological heritage of the area. Along the way, runners will pass through charming villages like Vières, Vieux Montlaux, and Lurs, each with its own unique character and charm.
