Marathon de Chinon

The fifth edition of the Marathon de Chinon returns on April 4, 2027, offering runners an exceptional blend of scenic beauty and athletic challenge. The race features three distinct distances: the full marathon, half-marathon, and a competitive 10-kilometer event.
Set against the backdrop of medieval architecture and natural landscapes, the course winds through historic Chinon, past its iconic royal fortress, along picturesque banks of the Vienne River, and amidst lush vineyards and green trails. The flat terrain ensures that runners can focus on their pace while enjoying a breathtaking scenery.
The marathon route consists of two laps around a 21-kilometer loop designed to showcase the region's rich heritage and natural beauty. Similarly, participants in the half-marathon will complete one lap, while those tackling the 10K race will cover a significant portion of this scenic circuit.
Onsite at the foot of the fortress where runners begin their journey, an energetic village awaits with local vendors offering regional delicacies and beverages. A Pasta Party is organized on the evening before the event, providing participants and guests the opportunity to socialize and prepare for the big day ahead.
To ensure a comfortable race experience, organizers have planned several amenities including monitored changing rooms and lockers within walking distance from the start/finish line, as well as massage tables and physiotherapy services at the finish area. Runners can expect hydration stations every 5 kilometers along with energy snacks to help maintain their stamina throughout the course.
