About the Event

Returning on December 4, 2026, La Corrida de La Riche promises an exhilarating evening of fun and competition for runners of all ages. The second edition brings back four distinct race categories designed to cater to everyone from young children to adults:
- A non-timed 500m dash for kids aged 6 to 8
- Another non-timed event, a 1.5km run for children between 9 and 11 years old
- For teenagers aged 12 to 15, there’s the challenging 2.5 km race
- Adults can participate in a longer distance of 7.5 kilometers
The evening offers more than just racing; it encourages participants to embrace creativity with their costumes. Whether you opt for superhero outfits or festive winter themes like Santa's reindeer and magical unicorns, everyone is welcome to shine on the course.
A key feature of this event is its nighttime setting, which requires all runners to wear a headlamp or chest-mounted light to ensure visibility throughout the race. This adds an exciting twist, turning La Corrida into a glowing spectacle under the stars.
Registration closes November 22, 2026, and participants can pick up their bibs at two convenient locations: the town hall from 9am to 4pm on December 1st, or at Château du Plessis between 5pm and 7:30pm.
For those interested in contributing beyond just running, La Riche is actively seeking volunteers for a range of roles including course marshals, race organization tasks such as bib distribution, and aid station support during the event itself. Volunteers will be supervised by experienced organizers to ensure smooth operations from 6:30 pm until 9:30 pm.
