Llandudno Half Marathon & 10 Mile

March 21, 2027 marks the date for the picturesque Llandudno Half Marathon, set to wind through one of Wales' most charming seaside towns. The half marathon starts on the scenic promenade opposite Venue Cymru and takes runners along Llandudno’s iconic waterfront past the Victorian pier.
The route is predominantly flat but features a notable ascent up "Little Orme," which offers breathtaking views over the Irish Sea. This hill, while challenging, pales in comparison to its larger counterpart on Great Orme. The course then retraces its steps back towards Venue Cymru along Rhos-on-Sea before finishing where it began.
Race day will see a warm and welcoming atmosphere at Venue Cymru, which serves as the hub for race operations with tea, coffee, and snacks available to participants. Llandudno’s rich history and elegant architecture make this event more than just a run; it's an experience in one of Wales' most beloved resort towns.
Participants are encouraged to explore beyond the running route by spending time at some of Llandudno’s top attractions or simply relaxing along its picturesque promenade. The town is known as "The Queen of Welsh Resorts," a title that reflects not only its natural beauty but also its cultural and historical significance, including connections to Lewis Carroll.
As part of the race experience, all finishers will receive a bespoke medal and technical t-shirt upon completion. Prizes for overall male and female winners along with age category awards add an extra layer of excitement for competitive runners.
Race organizers emphasize adherence to rules such as no headphone use during the event except bone-conducting headphones, ensuring safety on routes that do not have full road closures. Participants must also adhere to a strict pace guideline—no slower than 15 minutes per mile—to ensure smooth race operations and avoid disruptions to local traffic patterns.
With ample parking options around Llandudno and convenient access points from major highways, runners can easily make this event part of their weekend plans in one of Wales' most picturesque destinations.
