LAMBTON CASTLE SUMMER TRAIL RUNS 2026

Experience an unforgettable summer trail running adventure on Sunday, August 15, 2027, within the enchanting private grounds of the historic Lambton Estate in Chester-le-Street, County Durham. Nestled amidst rolling hills and lush woodlands, this exclusive event offers runners a unique chance to explore trails that are typically off-limits to the public.
The estate's diverse landscape features picturesque woodland paths, expansive open fields, and serene parkland dotted with historical landmarks. Wildlife enthusiasts may catch glimpses of the famous Wild Deer roaming freely across the grounds. Whether you're new to trail running or seeking a more challenging route, there is an option tailored just for you:
- 5km Trail Run (10:00am): An ideal introduction to the world of trail running, this scenic course winds through some of the estate's most charming trails and open spaces.

- 5 Mile Trail Run (10:00am): Perfect for intermediate runners looking to enjoy a mix of woodland tracks, grassy fields, and private roads.
- 10 Mile Trail Run (9:30am): A moderately undulating route that showcases the best of Lambton Estate's varied terrain, from dense woodlands to open meadows.
- 15 Mile Trail Run (9:30am): For seasoned trail runners craving a longer challenge, this extended loop combines elements of both shorter courses and offers an even deeper exploration of the estate’s stunning scenery.
Participants will benefit from live chip timing provided by Timing Up North for accurate race results. Upon crossing the finish line, all runners are greeted with bespoke event medals and Wild Deer merchandise to commemorate their achievement. Refreshments including snacks and drinks await at the post-race area.
For those wishing to make memories last longer, custom event T-shirts can be purchased during registration for just £14. On-site parking is available for a nominal fee of £3 per vehicle.
Dogs are welcome on this trail running journey, making it suitable for canicross enthusiasts as well. Each runner may bring one well-controlled dog that must remain leashed throughout the event.
