The main event is the Marathon du Finistère, a legendary race that stretches from Plouescat to Guissény. Runners will enjoy stunning coastal views as they navigate this challenging yet rewarding 42-kilometer course along the seafront. For those looking for an introduction to marathon running, La Transléonarde also offers two shorter races: the Marathon Duo with distances of 19.5 kilometers and 22.5 kilometers. For participants who prefer a trail experience, there is the Trail des Naufrageurs, a technical but exhilarating 14-kilometer route along the rugged Côte des Légendes between Kerlouan and Guissény. This race promises to be both challenging and picturesque with its dynamic terrain and breathtaking coastal scenery. Handisport enthusiasts will find their perfect match in La Transléonarde’s wheelchair or handbike event, a 21-kilometer journey from Plouescat to Goulven that showcases the beauty of Finistère while celebrating athletic achievement. Additionally, two scenic marches côtières are available for those who prefer a leisurely walk along the coast: one covering 12 kilometers and another spanning 18 kilometers. The weekend is packed with activities designed to engage all members of the family: - On Saturday afternoon, children can participate in free sports workshops at Plouescat’s complex sportif. - A longe côte (water walking) event provides a unique aquatic workout opportunity for €3. - Free guided bus tours explore the Pays du Léon on Saturday afternoon. Saturday evening features a pasta party to fuel up before race day, priced at €15 and available upon reservation. After completing your chosen distance, enjoy an extensive post-race feast of Kig Ha Farz (a regional specialty) for just €15 when booked in advance. Throughout the event, runners can look forward to plentiful refreshments with hydration stations every 5 kilometers along both marathon routes and less frequent points on shorter courses. Post-event celebrations will keep spirits high as participants unwind together at the finish line. Race packets are available for pickup: - Saturday, June 26th from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Plouescat’s complex sportif. - Sunday, June 27th between 7:30 AM and 8:30 AM near the start locations. For those traveling by bus: - On race day (Sunday), free shuttle services will transport participants from Guissény to their respective starting points. Departures are scheduled at Plouescat’s complex sportif for marathon runners and Goulven for duo marathons. - After the event, shuttles will run back to Plouescat for marathon finishers.
