La Garenne Run

On September 5, 2027, the APE of François Mitterrand School in Portsall is proud to present the first edition of La Garenne Run. This inaugural race offers runners an opportunity to experience breathtaking coastal scenery and challenging terrain while supporting a good cause.
The event features two course options:
- 10 km Nature Course: Starting at 10:00 AM, this route includes approximately 70 meters of elevation gain.

- 20 km Nature Course: Beginning earlier at 9:30 AM, the longer distance offers around 230 meters of ascent.
Both courses weave through a stunning landscape that combines coastal paths, dunes, beaches, forest trails, and agricultural roads. The majority of each route follows natural pathways with less than 10% road travel, ensuring runners are immersed in nature from start to finish.
The race is organized as a non-profit event aimed at raising funds for the school's projects and activities. Participants will enjoy an inclusive atmosphere that encourages respect for both the environment and fellow competitors. The courses will be fully marked with temporary signage removed after the event; it’s crucial for runners to follow these guidelines closely, especially in areas classified under Natura 2000.
Timing is provided through electronic chips attached to race bibs at registration, ensuring precise results are available post-race. All participants must present a valid FFA license or medical certificate as required by current regulations.
Ravitaillements will be strategically placed along the routes:
- 10 km Course: One refreshment point around kilometer 5 and another upon reaching the finish line.

- 20 km Course: Two checkpoints at kilometers 5 and 12, plus a final stop at the end of the race.
Each station offers both solid food options as well as hydration to keep runners fueled throughout their journey.
The event’s central location in Tréompan near Ploudalmézeau provides ample parking space around the campsite area where the start and finish lines are set up. Organizers encourage carpooling among participants to minimize environmental impact.
In addition to an engaging race experience, La Garenne Run also offers a unique souvenir: runners can opt for personalized posters featuring their results alongside a map of the course at A3 format size. These keepsakes cost €12 when pre-ordered through Klikego or €15 on-site after crossing the finish line.
Join us in Ploudalmézeau to take part in this scenic and meaningful race, where every step contributes towards enriching educational opportunities for local children while enjoying some of Brittany’s most beautiful natural settings.
