The 8th edition of the Corsa Cessonnais, organized by the dedicated volunteers of Athétic Club Cessonnais, is set to take place on December 13, 2026. This annual race offers a variety of distances and categories for runners of all ages and abilities. Participants will enjoy running around the picturesque Dézerseul ponds and through the golf course, with a new finish line at Stade Roger Belliard. The detailed route map is scheduled to be released by late September 2026, providing ample time for competitors to prepare. The race day schedule includes several categories designed specifically for young athletes: - A 800m or 1000m run for children born in 2016 and 2017 at 9:00 AM. - An event for those born in 2014 and 2015, covering a distance of 1.6km starting at 9:10 AM. - A longer race of 2.7km for children born in 2012 or 2013 beginning at 9:20 AM. For older participants, the day features: - An individual and team event over a distance of 5.3 km starting from 9:40 AM. - A march nordique (with mandatory plastic-tipped poles) covering 5.3km for those aged minimes or above at 9:50 AM. - The main attraction, a 10-kilometer race kicking off at 10:50 AM open to cadets born in 2011 and older. The Challenge Entreprise competition offers teams of 2 to 6 runners the opportunity to compete either in the 5km or 10km races. Each team member's age category finish position is factored into a sophisticated calculation that determines their overall ranking. The top three teams with the highest average score will receive awards. The race starts and ends at Boulevard Dezerseul, near Stade Roger Belliard. A single water station will be available in the tennis hall towards the end of each course for hydration needs. Registration opens on September 13, 2026, requiring a valid Parcours de Prévention Santé (PPS) attestation to confirm fitness levels at the time of the event. Parents must provide health questionnaires and permission slips for minors wishing to participate. Dossards can be picked up from Décathlon Betton on December 12th between 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM, or directly before race day starting at 8:45 AM in the municipal tennis hall. A special discount of 10% off running gear is offered by presenting a dossard during pick-up hours. Parking will be available near Place de l'Eglise with changing facilities and storage lockers provided at Stade Roger Belliard and the local tennis hall. The Corsa Cessonnais supports Enfance & Partage, an organization dedicated to protecting children from various forms of abuse. Each individual participant contributes €1 while those in Challenge Entreprise teams contribute €3 per runner towards this cause.
