Ironbridge Half Marathon 2027

Experience the historic charm and natural beauty of Shropshire at the Ironbridge Half Marathon, organized by Telford Harriers. This scenic 13-mile race starts and finishes at the QEII Arena in Telford Town Park, offering runners a challenging yet rewarding course through some of England's most iconic landscapes.
The route is marked clearly with mile markers guiding you along a multi-surface loop that winds its way through picturesque parks, historic sites, and alongside tranquil rivers. Starting from the bustling arena, participants begin their journey by looping around Telford Hornets RFC in the town park before heading out onto the Silkin Way.
As runners progress, they'll pass landmarks such as Blists Hill Museum and Coalport China Museum, crossing over Coalport Bridge and venturing into the Severn Gorge. The route then follows an old railway line past Maws Craft Centre and Jackfield Tile Museum.
The highlight of this half marathon is undoubtedly reaching Ironbridge itself—the world's first cast-iron bridge—where runners will have a chance to cross its historic span while taking in panoramic views of the River Severn below. Continuing through the charming town, you'll pass by the Iron Bridge Gorge museum before turning up Station Road and heading back into Rough Park.
The final stretch leads participants along Silkin Way once more until they return triumphantly to the QEII Arena for a well-deserved finish line celebration complete with medals, T-shirts, goody bags, and refreshments.
Water stations are strategically placed at 3 miles (Silkin Way), 6 miles (Salthouse Road near Jackfield Tile Museum), 9 miles (School Road before Rough Park), and 11 miles (near the Queensway junction on Silkin Way). Be sure to heed race marshals, signs, and police instructions throughout the course.
Please note that headphones are strictly prohibited during the event. Disqualification will result if any runner is found wearing them.
Early bird pricing for this exciting half marathon starts at £32 until September 1st, increasing to £38 thereafter. Transfers can be made up until race day but no refunds or deferrals will be provided under any circumstances.
