Ilkley Moor Fell Race 2027

Ilkley Moor Fell Race presents an exhilarating challenge for seasoned fell runners on February 28, 2027. Nestled among the rugged Yorkshire Dales, this race invites participants to navigate steep ascents and descents across varied terrain that includes rocky valleys and open moorland. Registration opens at 10:15 AM with a strict cut-off time of one hour at the Rocky Valley Marshal point for those aiming to complete the course.
Runners must adhere strictly to Fell Run Association (FRA) rules, ensuring they are familiar with navigation principles and safety guidelines provided by FRA documents. A crucial aspect is carrying all mandatory kit items such as waterproof clothing, gloves, a hat, and a whistle; no GPS devices for navigation are allowed. Junior races commence at 10:30 AM without pre-entry requirements.
The race offers stunning views of the Yorkshire landscape while emphasizing safety through random checks on runners' equipment and adherence to marshals’ instructions. Participants must be prepared to assist fellow competitors if necessary, fostering a spirit of camaraderie among runners. Any runner choosing to abandon after receiving their number should notify organizers promptly.
With age categories starting at 16 years old for the day of the race, under-18 participants need parental consent forms on-site. In case of severe weather or other unforeseen circumstances leading to cancellation, updates will be communicated through official channels and social media platforms. By participating, runners agree to allow their images taken during the event to promote future Ilkley Moor Fell Races.
