Ian Roberts Memorial Fell Race

The Ian Roberts Memorial Fell Race invites runners to tackle 6.5 miles of challenging moorland terrain along the Pennine Way on March 14, 2027. This fell race covers rough and boggy ground with a total ascent of 850 feet, offering both scenic beauty and formidable obstacles. Participants should come prepared for any weather conditions, as wintry elements can persist throughout the year.
Registration opens at Marsden Cricket Club on November 1, 2026, and entries will be accepted online until March 11, 2027. The race starts from Grid Ref SE 042108, a ten-minute walk away from the cricket club. Full Fell Runners Association (FRA) kit is required on the day and must adhere to safety guidelines posted at the venue.
After crossing the finish line, runners can enjoy hot and cold drinks along with a legendary spread of cakes in the clubhouse. The race committee reminds participants to maintain cleanliness by removing muddy shoes before entering indoor spaces and using designated areas for cleaning footwear outside.
